Good Morning.

This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.

It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.

Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help!

To all who helped this get started and keep it running, thank you!

Special thanks to Null and Void for keeping these threads running on the weekends, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, Ragtime Cowgirl for her Exclusive Live Transcription Service™, Fledermaus for his 15 minutes of fame, and, of course, Belly Girl...

I read that Torie Clarke prepared an in-depth report on media access/relations during the war and recommended the embedded reporter strategy, which Rumsfeld, the joint chiefs and presumably President Bush subsequently approved.

Iraqi TV showed a mass of Iraqi soldiers marching beneath the huge crossed swords of the Victory Arch, to the theme music from 'Star Wars'. LOL!

So the "really bad helmet" -- it was left over from that parade? (Anybody got the pic?)

Guilty, sentenced and served. More time than any other by far. Guilty of trying to help take out Saddam, when many in the corridors of power were big fans of Saddam. Guilty of that, more than of the spying for an ally. For he's served that much more longer.

Not to worry -- it'd be to small to march an army through, anyway.

I know you ain't no friend of Saddam's. But that sentiment is just what he'd say -- if he wasn't being so "eternally restful".
