Good Morning.

This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.

It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.

Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help!

To all who helped this get started and keep it running, thank you!

Special thanks to Null and Void for keeping these threads running on the weekends, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, Ragtime Cowgirl for her Exclusive Live Transcription Service™, Fledermaus for his 15 minutes of fame, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Good grief, everyone wants a hand in the rebuilding process:

"If we are fighting for freedom in Iraq, then most surely that freedom should extend to women globally and in the United States," says Planned Parenthood President Gloria Feldt, in a statement posted on the group's Web site. "The most fundamental freedom is the freedom of reproductive self-determination."

Fox is reporting that the WMD's are tabun, sarin, and a blister agent. They were located along the Euphrates between Karbala and another town I didn't catch. Site of ancient Babylon.

PARIS (AP) - French tank and armament maker Giat Industries plans to close two plants and cut about 3,700 jobs, or more than half its work force, over three years as part of a major cost-cutting plan, union leaders said Monday.

The reports I keep hearing on CBS radio are that the tipped missles were found under the concrete in the schoolyard..drums in a warehouse, both just southeast of B-dad.

Thanks. The missiles story came from NPR initially, and after Reuters picked it up, that went silent. The drums story appears to have come from the New York Times. Both say that they were found by the 101st outside of Karbala.

While both are important finds, the chems that were weaponized are the most important! IMHO

can anyone remember Clintoon and his RINO defense sec ruling out, unilaterally, any use of ground troops in the Kosovo campaign. It's creepy to think jokers like that were in charge of the finest military the world has ever seen and it's surprising we were not taken more advantage of during those years than we already have been (Bin Ladin, 9/11, Saddam, WMD, China etc.)

Had they tried anything like that here, we would have had a total cluster-freak.

I agree with you.

The mediots don't want us to find it, but if we do, but they and the rest will say we planted it.

Trying to follow the news - I think there are two separate Chem finds, both south of Baghdad. One is Chem-tipped missles, the other is Chems in a drum.

I'll see if I can sort it out . . .

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/887243/posts <-- One find, 101st Airborne, between Karbalk and Hilla

There are other reports of 20 missiles, made on CBS radio. Not sure if this is the same, but think it is not.

The reports of US soldiers coughing and blistering are bad. If it was Serin, there is no antidote.
