I could add other reasons. They are effete liberals who despise conservative thought.

They are weak socialists who engage in some sort of weird snobbery while their societies decay along with their economies.

They resent the fact that they're no longer important.

American culture has spread to their countries, and while they love it (or it wouldn't have spread), they resent it as well.
