The answer is to hold the federal government to the limits defined in the constitution. Most of the rest of the problems goes away.

Wouldn't protecting the borders be required by the constitution? Wouldn't elimination of PBS, the NEA, the cow fart study, most of welfare, and just about every other extortion scheme be required by the constitution?

Alas, how do we get there? We are stuck voting for folks just barely on our side of the middle. That is, I think, what needs to change. Good men and women of the right need to stand up and be counted, and also to prevent and block by all means necessary (within the law) the other side.

Fortunately, I think the tide is turning. Folks like Rush and FOX introduce the middle to the correctness of the right, and folks like Mr Robinson and the FReepers allow the right a place to congregate and synergize.

Thank you Rush; thank you Jim; thank you FReepers. Keep up the good work, and may we all win in the end.

Having said that, I also think unavoidable is the explosion and resolution of the racism issue. There are those that would rather have the country destroyed then get on with their lives and take advantage of all that this country offers.

I have no idea how this will turn out, but I fear the short term. However, I have little fear for the long term. Let me explain why.

A few weeks back I was talking with two other people. One, like me, is in his mid-thirties. The other is in his late seventies. For some reason he was talking about Jews, and his general hatred for them. You know, they want to rule the world; they are the cause of all the evil in the world; that type of thing.

It occurred to me that I had no such feelings for Jews, and in fact, it never comes to me that being a Jew is something to concern myself with. Only the way an individual acts should be considered in my judgment.

However, the words he was using in hatred sounded a lot like the words I hear my peers (and regrettably, sometimes myself) use against blacks. And that both scared me and gave me reason to hope.

If in one generation we can, as a society, correct our feelings towards Jews, maybe in the next we can correct our feelings towards blacks. I spoke with my like-aged friend and he was of the same mind - we don't feel that way about Jews any more, maybe we can do the same for the prejudice about blacks.

Until that happens, I worry about the influence that the Jacksons and Sharptons have. Hopefully one day they can appear to be the dinosaurs that my aged-friend is today.
