Why weren't they buried? There is no respect for the dead.. they were viewed as human.. viewed as so much rubbish.

Not sure if it is cultural or not. I believe that Muslims require the body to be interred into the ground as quickly as possible.

Why were the bodies not buried? Saddam's ego. And it would serve as a wonderful piece of "Iraqi Urban Legendry" amongst a people that Saddam would like to keep controlled and cowed.
