They've been mucking around outside Basra for two weeks now.

From the beginning, the Lads have been targeting enemy 'bad guy buildings' with artillery, airstrikes and raids (eg the attack on the Ba'ath party HQ a week or so ago). They've also been winkling out Fayadeen forces by running probing raids into Basra with Warriors and Challengers and simply killing anything that fires at them.

Hardly 'mucking around', methinks.

Sorry, the lads are involved in PR-friendly soccer games and they're going to sport berets instead of helmets because that makes fedayeen mass murderers feel all gooey and full of love.

May I ask you a question? Has any British soldier been a KIA in this War? I know you lost some valient boys in a chopper crash, and that Tornado friendly fire thing. Have you lost any lads in the fighting?

I get the BBC on the dish, and I was insulted by one Brit officer who stated that those 10 civilians who died ( because they ran through the first barrier at the check point, ignored a verbal warning, ignored a warning shot in the air, and shrugged off a warning shot in their front grill before our boys blew them up) may have been a tragedy that a more sophisticated, less reactionary British type check point very well could have avoided.

Just take Basrah down, ok?

Ref Brits in Basra: I've seen several articles from the British press about what a wonderful job their folks have done by NOT invading Basra. They argue the Brititsh experience in northern Ireland has taught them the right way to handle a city, unlike the brutal Americans.

I don't mean to dismean the efforts of the British - I spent 3 1/2 years in England, and their military is a joy to work with. However, the leftist papers boasting about the 'finesse' the British troops are using makes my blood boil. With equal finesse, we would still be 200 miles from Baghdad!

And ... please ... I am not casting insult on the skills, courage and derring do of ANY of the British warriors.

I am casting a concern about the ability of your super professionals to ply their expertise absent an immediate and invasive cavity check by the "Chiraq rocks" fanzine contributers ... Twiggy and Alan Carr lookalikes ... who are embedded distorters for the BBC and the following outrage by the "Sexless and Pissed About It" warthogs in the Labour Party.

That's if you are successful! ;^)

Tony needs to give your urban pros an open ticket to clean out the garbage. Your guys are the best in the world at urban warfare, but you aren't plying your leverage.

How in the hell did you lose 9-3 to an Iraqi pickup team?
