No joking...In the more built up camps, they have a community bathroom, it's a long box (inside a wood type room) with holes cut in the top...the guys sit so close together when they poop they even share the newspaper. The urinal is right next to the poop box (poop, I have kids, can you tell?) that if you look to your right you have a shlong in your face.

That's better than the stories I heard about the heads aboard old ships...

Basically, it was an open trough with seawater running down it, over which sailors would sit. Every once in a while, some joker at the head of the flow would light some TP on fire and float it down the stream...

The "head" on old sailing ship's was "open" gratings (with a kind of a open-bottom chair on the gratings) in front of the bowsprit (ahead of the deck (get the term "head" there?) ....

You'd climb up over the railing, sit on the chair, do your business down through the grate into the ocean, and then climb back over the railing and go back below.....Next big wave (might) clean everything off for the next guy.

Now, if there were no wind, and no waves - as for days and weeks in the doldrums near the equator, the stink would stay with you.

If there were high waves and high winds in a storm for weeks at end - as going around Cape Horn or Cape of Good Hope, then you'd be sitting IN the waves and freezin' water doing your business and wouldn't CARE about whether the seats were clean.......
