Actually, that quote came from an American Marine. He was talking about how the Iraqi people had been led to believe that the Americans were nowhere near Baghdad, and that we had come up to and INto Baghdad so quickly, that "it was as if they all went to bed normally, and in the morning woke up and said 'Hey, where did all these Americans come from?' "
No, it was from an officer (a Captain, I believe) who is in charge of the brigade of the 3rd ID who was charged with taking the airport.
