All, what exactly is "ping" or a "ping list"?? Ive been here 2 weeks now and that questin has been nagging me

"Pinging" is adding screen names in the "To:" field. When they go to their "new posts to you" link, the thread(s) they've been pinged to will show up.

If I were on another thread and wanted to get your attention I would put your name in the "TO" box. That way when you log on you would see "new posts to you" highlighted alerting you to the thread.

A ping list is the same thing, but to a whole bunch of people.
