I really can't believe that the only access Baghdad residents have is from Iraqi tv and radio.

Yup. The good thing is they won't know we've taken over til its too late for them to do anything about it. For all the supposed efficiency of totalitarian regimes, their blind spot is their inability to level with their public about a dire situation. Saddam's regime is now imploding not so much as a result of the Americans suddenly taking it by surprise than by the accumulated dead weight of its own lies.

For all intents and purposes, Iraqi regular broadcast television has been out of commission for three days, at least. The people have no freaking idea what is going on.
Most of them believed their government when they said that the Americans were stalled out at Najaf.
Now the American armored columns are rolling through the capitol on their expressways. This is a profound psychological shock and the relative ease (and I do mean relative-this could have been worse) of our entry makes Saddam look all wet.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
