When the original story of the farmer shooting down the chopper was floated the US side thought it was silly and odd. I think now we know why they floated the story of the farmer, they already had Saddam in the can saying that."

I agree that it is possible he made a tape about a chopper before the war started, but I think it's more likely that he's alive.

I believe the reason we haven't seen more tapes is that he is no longer in Baghdad and it's getting very hard to get tapes into town or out of whatever town he's in. (pure conjecture)
