It looks like all those folks who said that the military was exaggerating her wounds for PR purposes were wrong:
The wounds were found during treatment of her left leg and right arm for fractures and were "consistent with low-velocity, small-caliber rounds," such as a small rifle or handgun, said Dan Little, Lynch cousin.
"It's not a machine gun. It's not a large caliber-rifle. It's nothing like that," he said.
He said evidence of shrapnel was discovered next to bones, but he didn't know exactly where on the arm or leg. Little said he didn't get into specifics with the doctors.
It also looks like the report filed by the military reporter that was posted on the defense web site was correct also. It said she had gun shot wounds, but then the father said in an interview that she wasn't and the dr at the hospital said in press briefing that she had no gun shot wounds.
Surely she told the drs she had been shot. I don't understand how there could have been so much confusion about this with drs initially saying no gun shots then now saying there is.
