I was talking with my sis-in-law today about whether PFC Lynch will recieve a combat medal seeing that she put some lead in a few of those chicken soup smelling mothers.
She said that she thought they can't give her one unless they change some rule they have about women not being eligable.
Anyone know anything about this?

Reunart did not shed any new light on how Lynch sustained her wounds -- whether she was injured in captivity or when the 507th Maintenance Company was ambushed March 23 when they made a wrong turn in Nasiriyah.

No, the wounds didn't happen in captivity -- they happened in the multi-vehicle pileup on the Baghdad Freeway when the convoy took a wrong turn. Puh-leeeeez. OF COURSE they happened in captivity!!

Excerpt from official transcript from CENTCOM briefing on 4/5/93: On about the 23rd of March, the 507th Maintenance Company was ambushed in the vicinity of An Nasiriyah. A number of the members of that maintenance company were killed, a number of captured, and a number were unaccounted for.

They're still holding five more POW's from the 507th Maintenance Company. They were not found with Pfc. Lynch and they were not found among the bodies buried in the shallow grave near the hospital.
