The point should be that the question was totally inappropriate and should never have been asked to begin with.I agree. This family must be in shock, they are headed to a foreign country and they don't know for certain what the details of their daughter's ordeal. Just on a basic human level nobody should have asked that question. And if we understand that, we might understand why the military chose not to inform them of the fate of the other soldiers. They don't need all of that right now.

And unfortunately there have been several Freepers implying just that on some of the Pfc. Lynch threads. And oh, so just coincidentally, these same posters almost all are upset that a woman was serving in Iraq. Which breeds the question, is it totally genuine concern for the 8 dead, or a convenient avenue for criticism.

You too! That creep did it for the camera. Who that setup? You know this is the same guy that was flashing Victory signs to passing cars that were honking. We assumed he is not on the side we are.

I'm sorry but I don't accept that it is "just what they do". No wonder they act like the imbeciles that they do if they get a pass all the time because it is "just what they do".
In my opinon, no one is to blame but the reporter that asked the question.

I doubt it occured to anyone (even the person asking the question) that they didn't know Probably not, but it was still an insensitive question that could serve no purpose except to dampen the Lynch family's happiness just before departure.

Sign-ups now, but start first week of August. Super high demand for a very well organized system. (Portland, Oregon) or Berkeley on the Willamette.
