Unfortunately, as a Canadian I have to tell you that there are not 1000 Canadians in Afghanistan in active combat roles. Whoever is saying that must be counting the sailors on the Canadian ships in the Gulf.
In fact after promising a substantial contigent(for us) for the future in Afghanistan the Cretin government is begging around the world(eg NATO) for help because they cannot actually keep the commitment. They of course had to withdraw the 1000 troops we had originally in the country when there was combat because our forces could not sustain replacements.
