For a Christian to say that there is no God but Jehovah or Yahweh, the God of the Holy Bible, is not a rhetorical statement. It is a belief statement on which Robertson's faith is based. No other discussion need continue afterwards, because his belief will not be swayed. What he said is no worse than a Muslim saying that their religion is the only true faith, or a Jew saying that Judaism is the only true faith. A faith statement is a personal choice, and in America, it should not be seen as threatening speech.

I was refering to his statement that no Muslim should be allowed to hold public office.

That violates the right to freedom of religion in America.
