PRINCETON BOROUGH - The Rev. Pat Robertson spoke from the lectern at Princeton University last night like it was his pulpit, calling students to stand up for their moral convictions and not be swayed by popular culture.

His hair is all gray now, he had surgery in February and is recovering from prostate cancer, but the evangelist showed no signs of wavering last night when he spoke at the invitation of a student group.

There is much in those two quotes that is proper and good. But obfuscation in the name of peace keeping is not good.

Meanwhile, we must show the utmost respect for each individual who believes otherwise. It is actually a disrespect for someone, to allow them to go into eternity believing a lie, when one knows the truth that can save him.

...i.e., one should tell what one knows while letting the person believe what he will, without punishing for simple belief.

However when a belief turns into actual sedition, that is another matter, altogether.

"Allah" means "God" in Arabic...I speak Spanish as a first language, I pray to "Dios"...not a different God, just a different language.

"The constitution DOES NOT protect a religion which has as one of its tenets that IF its adherents gain power they OUGHT to disallow the free practice of other religions."

Where exactly does the Constitution say that?

BTW, aren't those promoting the banishment of Islam from America guilty of just that?

"What takes place after the Rapture?"

"After The Rapture, God will begin executing judgments against unbelievers, during a period called the Tribulation. At the end of the Tribulation all nations will attack Israel, and Jesus Christ will physically return, leading the armies of heaven. At the Battle of Armeggedon they will destroy everyone who is not a believer. Then Satan will be bound, and Jesus will set up the Millennial Kingdom, headquartered in Jerusalem. Jesus and the saints will rule over the nations of the Earth for a thousand years. During this period there will be people born who are not loyal to Christ. However, it usually will not be obvious. Therefore, at the end of the thousand-year period, God will release Satan and let him tempt those who inhabit the Earth. A large group will take up arms against the Lord and be defeated. Then, Christ will judge all who have ever lived, giving rewards to some and punishment to others. Those who were "destroyed" will be cast into the Lake of Fire, i.e., Hell. After that, God will destroy heaven and Earth because they have been polluted by sin. He will create a new heaven and a new Earth, put those who were saved on the new Earth, and rule it forever."---Source.

"There is much in those two quotes that is proper and good."

I guess you drew judgement from what I posted without ever actually bothering to click on the link and read the rest of the article.

That's how you gain your understanding of Islam and the Koran, by having intewrested parties tell you what to think.

Do you think that a religion that teaches its adherents to outlaw all other religions if the adherents gain power OUGHT to be permitted and IS permitted by our constitution?

If the adherents gained power and tried to implement such a thing, it would be unconstitutional. That hasn't happened yet, and doesn't seem to be in any danger of happening. Hopefully, if it were considered, the Constitution would be followed.

Why protect a religion that teaches only IT may be freely practiced and that IT must become the state religion???

Read the Constitution, it will tell you why.

To my knowledge, all religions teach that they are the only true religion.

I am through with you fruitcakes.

If you want to go persecute harmless old women for excersizing their Constitutional Right to bow down to a false god then, by all means go right ahead.

You won't find a court in the land to agree with you.. God won't be on your side and you will be violating the basic tenets of morality.. But if you absolutely, positively, must have your little Jihad, go right ahead...

Just remember, O' Christian hordes.. You will have to answer for these things. Just like that "other bunch" of oppressors that you're trying so hard to contrast yourselves with will.

Begone.. pfft! pfft!

You mean our troops are dying in Iraq to liberate people who belong to a "bloody cult"?

No, our troops are fighting in Iraq to take out a threat to our nation, who happens to also be a member of that bloody cult. If other members happened to be liberated as a side effect, so be it--they will prop up a new oppressive regime to exploit them soon enough. History shows that muslims cannot tolerate freedom.

Tell me what you think, Luis. Maybe we'll wind up not being so adversarial, in a bit.

It's not nice to call people fruitcakes. Name calling really adds heat and no light to any conversation. If you disagree with someone and don't know how to deal with them with reason and only know how to use diatribes you are part of the problem not part of the solution to rationale debate.

That's one version of the end times. In *all* objective interpretations of the Word, Jesus will eventuall allow all to go where they wish to go by their nature: either eternally with him, or into eternal separation from him. (What a fiery torment to be separated from God!).

Notice this again: "At the end of the Tribulation all nations will attack Israel." It's not vice versa, with Israelites and Christians attacking the "infidel."

Getting it, bro.?

There's no need to ping me on this Todd.

Everyones mind is made up, the debate is over.

If you want to ping me on other topics, then we might find agreement there. But this horse has been throughly beaten.
