Watch the video. The squad "took a knee", bbls down. It was not submissive - just less threatening. They would have easily been able to raise and fire if the SHTF. Their LT defused the situation quickly and saved bloodshed on both sides. I think it was a good call.

I saw the video. It was spooky. Thousands of angry muslims confronting the troops in an attempt to protect their Holy Shrine-- as if Allah is powerless to protect it without their help (which of course he is, but that is another subject).

The LT should get a field promotion for preventing a catastrophe. His troops should all be commended for keeping their cool.
