A family member of mine has the Wave Radio, and I think its great

Hell...give me $400 for a clock radio and I'll knock your socks off.

I am laughing at the phrase overrated popping up in this thread.
Overrated by who?

The only people who have ever said Bose was good was....ta ta...BOSE!

I have been in the hifi biz (and now install Home Theaters) since 1974 and have NEVER heard of a single person who has purchased Bose products for their own use. The other posters are absolutely right....
For HALF the price, you can get over TWICE the performance with competitive brands (Polk, Boston Acoustic, Klipsch, Mirage, Cambridge etc.)

Cambridge, BTW, was founded by a true giant in the audio industry who recently passed....Henry Kloss.

He was the "K" in KLH, invented the 'Acoustic Suspension' speaker which he used in speaker systems from the next two companies he founded (AR and Advent) and went on to form Kloss Novabeam Projection TVs and lastly, returning to his roots, Cambridge Soundworks.

You left out JBL, which is my own personal fave. Of course, we have the luxury of having room for four large 312's, a PB-12 sub and a center speaker. But I think maybe a HTIB might be right for someone who HAS to have physically-small speakers. The sub that comes with them will make up for the smallish speakers.

Thank you for your input to Bose's quality. I will stand behind the products I own, but am always looking for as good as or better products for less. I've got 2 Bose products and am very impressed with them. I'm not an audiophile, nor will I ever be. I like what they've done with their systems for convenience and ease of use. I don't want a whole rack of stuff anymore. That's one reason I went with the Bose 3-2-1, it's an all in one (radio/cd/dvd with hookups for VCR, Satellite and TV) that takes up very little space and puts a good sound in my small listening area.

I was looking at putting a bigger system in when I go to build a new house, but will keep my eye on things other than Bose.

What is your recommendation for something in a home theater system that won't take up half the room for its components? I have limited access to a place to listen to these things or view them and hate the super stores chock full o electronics. The smaller specialty places like their products too and charge a lot for them.
