There are about 60,000 households in the sample for this survey. The sample is selected so as to be representative of the entire population of the United States. In order to select the sample, first, the 3,141 counties and county-equivalent cities in the country are grouped into 1,973 geographic areas. The Bureau of the Census then designs and selects a sample consisting of 754 of these geographic areas to represent each State and the District of Columbia. The sample is a State-based design and reflects urban and rural areas, different types of industrial and farming areas, and the major geographic divisions of each State.

Easy enough to manipulate then huh? That is why the mass lay off stats were a beter measure..but alas the government prefers darkness to light!

The unemployment "rate" is irrelevant. If we have 94 out of our nations 100 people employed, and 10 new workers hit the market, 8 of which get jobs ... We've gone from a 6% to a 7.3% unemployment rate, but we have 102 jobs instead of 94. That's a positive productivity gain.

That's why we need to get these tax rates down, because the number of jobs in any market are dynamic, they are created when businesses attract investment for new marketing, product development, acquisitions or manufacturing capability.

We have MANY more people working in the aggregate today than 10 years ago. We are growing our GNP. That's what counts.

Taxes are a cancer on this organism. The liberals take money from the productive and transfer it to the non-productive. Pretty soon, the productive say Eff It and live off their interest and small sole proprietorships.

I really, really hate Democrats. All of them.
