Hmm. How about the Canadians' elected representives act the same way. How about when the Canadians' representatives bad mouth Americans, they don't get reprimanded.
Oh yea. Since you bring up lumping all Canadians together, do you recogize the following?
"We know that Americans can sometimes be, if I can be honest, loud, boastful, aggressive, maybe overbearing and certainly overwhelming.
It is the 'Ugly American' stereotype that Americans get painted with by just about every Canadian and European schmuck traveling abroad. We've been dealing with that crap for decades so don't complain to me about painting all Canadians with the same brush. When it comes to Americans, stereo-typing is par for the course for you guys.
And so, it now seems, is American hating.

Gee, I rather remember 1193-2001, when the President of the United States (an official elected by the the entire USA Nation) dallied around in the White House with a young woman young enough to be his duaghter. And, while some of our elected representatives had the cojones to impeach him, other of our elected officials could not bring themselves to actually convict him.
Does that mean that all of the USA would support his exoneration?

Irrelevant. When it comes to foreign nations, we were (and are) judged by our elected officials. While I was embarrassed by Clinton, I accepted the fact that he represented us, regardless of how much I disliked it.
Would that be the same sort of stereo-typing as this:
"When it comes to Americans, stereo-typing is par for the course for you guys."?
Yes it is. As I said before, we've been dealing with the ugly American stereotype for decades. Until and unless Canada changes their attitude regarding the US, you're going to have to learn to deal with the American hater stereotype.
