Shep Smith: hello ollie
Oliver North: Shep, we're here with the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force. The 2nd Tank battalion, who are right behind me, is about to launch off on the attack after a night of brutal pounding on the Eastern gates of Baghdad.
The reports you'be been getting from the airport, from the southwest, is one of three prongs headed for the heart of Saddam Hussein's capital.
I have with me the air crews. Those who have been flying the casualty evacuation missions from HMM-268, the Red Dragons, who have been literally flying around the clock.
We arrived at this landing zone late last night, using night vision goggles.
It turns out this landing zone, a school yard, had been turned into a military headquarters for Saddam Hussein.
Here among the things that Major Herons (sp?) has:
a wonderful picture of none other than Saddam Hussein.
He also has... hold up that gas mask because I think this is very impressive.
Remember, this is the military that wasn't going, that didn't have, any of those weapons of mass destruction.
There is an Iraqi gas mask. The gas mask pouch is below it, and right next to it, Major Herons has the uniform that the Iraqi soldier disposed of.
Turns out that this is a non-commissioned officer's uniform. You can tell by the epaulets. This uniform has been disposed of and it's more than likely it's one of the 50 enemy prisoners of war who are now standing, being guarded by military policemen, about 100 yards from where we stand.

Ollie went on to interview one of the corpsmen who was with the group. The physician had confiscated Iraqi IV bags...
Ollie North: And we've also got atropine injectors. All this equipment was either made in Iraq or made in Jordan, though we've picked up equipment made in France of all places.

Did you see his latest? He said that his unit is 8 miles due east of Baghdad. They will participate in a "three-pronged" assault of Baghdad from the east, south and south-east (airport area).
And people here jumped on Ted Koppel for stating his unit were low on fuel...

I just transcribed North's last transmission at 9 PM PST 4-3-03.
You are incorrect in your statement. I have the entire segment video recorded in digital format straight from FNC.
Care to argue more about North's judgement?

I don't see how this is different than Geraldo's map in the sand?
To: bonesmccoy
I still don't get this, though. It is quite simple for any apologist to claim the Iraqi equipment is for the purpose of protecting them from OUR chem weapons.
After all, the anti-war crowd continually harps on the fact that WE have "more WMD than all other nations combined."
I do think this equipment is highly suspicious, but it represents finding a gun, not necessarily a smoking gun.

But, here's the deal...we need to find those wmd's, not because of the smoking gun...but, for the safety of our troops in theater. We need to find their caches of weapons and soon.

Yes, I was thinking that spin would show up here.
Thanks for showing that you're NOT satisfied with North showing the gas mask and reporting on Atropine on the battlefield?

Ollie North is a great American. His love for country and his love of his fellow Marines can not be challenged. His FNC series "War Stories" should be a required study in every College and University all across this great Nation

They've been finding gas masks and atropine injectors all over Iraq and on troops for over a week now. It's hardly anything new.
And people are kidding themselves if anyone who didn't support the war could care less. It's simply irrelevant till actual WMD is found.

YOU AND THE OTHER MORONS WHO KEEP ASKING FOR LOCATION OF WMD ARE IDIOTS!!!!
The UN THEMSELVES admitted the presence of BIOLOGICS AND CHEMICAL weapons by Hussein's regime in the 6 March 2003 UNMOVIC document.
Finding an intact warhead will not happen. They've already evaporated the Iraqi leadership and evacuated the remainder.
This fight is nearing completion.
They have gone underground to attempt assymetric attacks on our nation.

Sorry, but until actual WMDs are found, the world, and, indeed, many who supported this war, will be unconvinced.
And don't call people morons just because they want evidence of the WMDs.

It's not "spin," it's a logical argument.
Myself, I'm sure that it is evidence of Iraqi disingenuousness, but it isn't
"proof" of anything.

While you were transcribing (thank you) the transmission, you missed the next one.

Yep..thats the partial effective point. But, right now I want to make sure they do not fire ONE of those weapons in combat. Period. If they do...it will also endanger the general population. It ain't over by a longshot. I know we will prevail, no doubt, but I want those damn weapons secured.
We've kicked their ass...now lets take their suicide pills away.

I don't see how this is different than Geraldo's map in the sand? Not much difference. To split hairs Geraldo was giving troop strength information too.

Let me get this straight... you're unconvinced that WMD's existed even though the French sent anthrax to Iraq and Hussein already used Chemical weapons on his own people??????
What am I missing here???
