I don't suppose that she can bear to even entertain the idea that those Iraqis were just simply helping an American. She just can't stand that a pretty young woman is shown as something other than a empty-headed bimbo.

Or maybe she was the only one alive. That seems to be the most likely possibility. Obviously we don't know much yet but I wonder if certain Iraqis were keeping Lynch alive for other reasons. Luckily all Iraqis aren't evil and some apparently took mercy on her.
