Her statement used the pronoun "WE." I am leery of folks who say we when the are speaking for themselves. Does the fat one presume to speak for the other two?
To: hispanarepublicana
It wasn't a very funny one. It didn't make me laugh. She should have stuck to music.

I don't know about you, but I think it's hilarious. Not so much the joke, but the firestorm of criticism has been delightful to watch.

OK. So if it was a joke, you'll come out and clearly say that you are really proud of President Bush and that he's from Texas, right? Or did you mean it, after all?

Shut up Miss Piggy! She can't even be a big girl and admit it was a tacky thing to do and thoughtless toward her fans in America ( and no doubt previously out in the field of battle!) What a jerk!

Yup. Mr. Black is using his position in the public eye to good ends.
It's also quite obvious that he understands his demographic quite a bit better than those 'dixie chicks'. hahaha.

Re:NATALIE SAYS IT WAS JUST A JOKE
Some jokes are not funny......
An actual personal experience (I heard it with my own ears):
When I was a USAF cadet, one of my roommates, a Jew, was ridiculed by another cadet who observed him kneeling (he was retrieving something he had dropped from beneath his bunk.
"Look, its a Jew saying his prayers.." In the argument that followed, the wise-ass commented, "Hitler got a raw deal..He should have just been fined for burning trash without a permit."
This was in 1962, before "political correctness" so it was handled "locally."
Upshot... Both cadets graduated -- the wiseacre sort of dissappeared of my "screen" -- ??
My Jewish roommate flew with SAC on B-52's then obtained an early release to go to Israel, and went on to become a senior officer in the Israeli Air Force.
My question to the Ditzy Chick...which would you rather be identified with?

We're only kidding when we say don't buy your alibi Natalie... and it's a (thunder)thigh slapper when your crummy CD's collect dust in the warehouses. Ha Ha Ha

You called Matalie "The big mouth wiccan ."
Is she, in fact, a wiccan?? Do you have any evidence for this?
If she is a wiccan, that puts a radically different perspective on that non-dixie chick.

...Maines told a New Zealand TV reporter the March 10 remark was "a joke and it wasn't planned. And it was really funny at the time." Yeah, yeah, sure...that's the ticket, a joke, yeah...
To: ConstitutionalConservative
Actually, they are from Texas. And being a fifth generation Texan, I can say... I am *profoundly* ashamed that the Dixie Chicks are from Texas.

This is why you should all install WinMX or old versions of Kazaa and download your music from the net for FREE. Do not pay artists like this. Of course you should continue to support those artists you like, especially those who do not spout off.
I buy the albums of artists that recognize that their job is to make music, not to spout philosophy, lessons in political economy, nor seditious blather. All others I download from the net for free.
See http://www.winmx.com,
...or click HERE to download it.

Yes, I know they are from Texas but, that is still part of Dixie.
They dont exactly exhibit the southern/country music additudes do they?? Then again, it seems a lot of the newer "counrty" performers dont!
