[history]
Gov. Mark R. Warner yesterday prevailed in preserving Virginia's tax on dead millionaires' estates and giving raises to public employees.
The Republican-controlled General Assembly overwhelmingly agreed with his proposal to guarantee 2.25 percent raises for public employees, including schoolteachers.
And three Senate Democrats who had previously backed repeal of the inheritance tax switched their votes, denying the legislature the constitutionally required majority to overturn Warner's veto and put the controversial phaseout on the books.

First Sentence, first paragraph:
"Mark R. Warner yesterday prevailed in preserving Virginia's tax on dead millionaires' estates and giving raises to public employees.
Talk about an obvious leftist media spin for socialism; that sentence alone should have rated a barf alert.

These Senators changed their vote on the Death Tax ...originally voted correctly to support the repeal and then flip-flopped and SUPPORTED Warner's veto....they need to hear from us on how disappointed we are!

Mud, yer boy, Jeffy Schapiro, the pompous, plaid-jacketed, pandering, political poltroon (enough "P" words, FBD?) apparently doesn't realize that the death tax is killing Virginians. Neither do the 'Rats. But we have elections this Fall to rectify one of these problems.

"As a Democrat, this would give us a golden opportunity to regain some of the ground we have lost," Houck said. "Somehow, we have fallen victim to this class warfare business." Yeah, gee. How EVER did that happen?

Speaking to the supposed political appeal of estate tax abolition, Sen. Henry L. Marsh III, D-Richmond, who voted to affirm the Warner veto, said, "It's a good thing we don't have elections every year. We wouldn't have any taxes."Well...yeah! Thank you for your insight, Sen. Marsh. Since you are my State Senator, be advised that I will be voting for Sultan88 again in this year's election, since no one dares oppose you (you being another former disgraceful mayor of Richmond.)

Henry Marsh is in a Gerrymandered District that is overwhelmingly 'Rat. The GOP never challengs him, as they put their resources in elections where they have a chance to be competitive. So, I will vote for myself as I did last time.

"...how is it that you right thinking Vir-yinyans ended up with a lefty guv?"The billionaire Connecticut Yankee from NOVA successfully passed himself off as a "conservative" businessman in certain parts of the state and as a "friend" of the gun-owners in the rural districts. With his own money propping him up, he never allowed the decent GOP candidate a chance to compete fairly in the TV ad wars. (And the GOP candidate ran a poorly organiized race.)

you being another former disgraceful mayor of RichmondThe position of Mayor of Richmond on a resume is a disgrace along the order of a felony conviction for embezzlement, @ a minimum.
Why our weak sister GOP didn't hang that albatros around Kaine's neck in the election, I'll never know.

The city of Richmond certainly does seem to require that the mayor be a complete moron, felon and all-around moral degenerate. Sheesh. I'd vote for you, Sultan, in the next election if I lived in your district.
