If she was violated, how do we who believe in the sanctity of all life deal with a pregnancy which may result?
Well, no one else seems to want to offer an opinion or comment, but I'll give mine.
I'm very pro-life myself. I believe that every life is sacred, yet there are instances, such as this, where I would, grudgingly, be tolerant of an abortion. Rape is a pretty good qualifier.
I think of the possibility of the child having to go through life with their mother constantly bringing her anger over the incident to bear on the the child. Most of the time it would probably be an unconcious act. A great many variances to go from off of that too. The mental state...such a tricky thing between different folks and unusual situations.
Anyway, I'd advocate or advise, if she were to turn up pregnant (and the military should've given her birth control pills if she was going anywhere near a combat zone because of situations just like this), placing the child up for adoption by the military. It happened during war and she is "their property" (vets know what I mean..."don't get sunburnt"...) Adoption is too seldom used as a primary choice.
I guess, ultimately, in the end, it's her choice and her decision and my opinions and choices are only mine to make, just like hers are. I personally wouldn't hold it against her in a case like this. It isn't like she would be using the abortion as a form of birth control, which is what all too many women see abortion as.

Maybe this would be a situation for that so called "morning after" pill. Maybe the military should stock up for female rape victims. A soldier may be pro life as well, and that pill would certainly be less traumatic than an abortion at 6 or 7 weeks.

There are more people waiting to adopt than babies to be adopted.

The sin done to this girl doesn't justify the sin of abortion committed against the innocent child.

I would blame the culture, the abortion propaganda and the medical people more than the girl who might choose an abortion.

The vast majority of military doctors will not perform abortions.

I agree. Life is very sacred. If she's been violated and impregnated, she'll have a heavy burden to bear. I watched a talkshow many years ago. The guest on that show was a woman who had been brutally raped and as a result became pregnant. She chose not to have an abortion because of her views on life. Her son (from that rape), was on the show also. She said her son was the biggest blessing in her life. So you see, God can take a worst case scenario and put it to good use. She was so glad she didn't have an abortion. I believe everything in our lives happen for a reason and that they're to build our character. Who are we to wonder why God lets things happen that we deem detrimental to our well-being? It's not a babys' fault.

If I were raped, the baby would still be my baby. I would not kill my baby.

If my daughter were raped, the baby would still be my grandchild.
