I could not imagine having an appitite at a time like that. Kudos to the reporter for his nuturing nature. LOL
Sounded like his reporting went from the mayhem to caring for the family in his foxhole. I would think anyone soldier or reporter needs moments of love and caring to keep their sanity at a time like this.
