Correct. Not for many years. The rank has not been eliminated, however. It is a wartime rank.

Oh cripes,,I love commodores. Captains in the navy are very important, in the army not so. That is cool to me.

I dont believe we have commodores anymore...

It's now called "Rear Admiral Lower Half". I don't know why. Commodore seemed OK to me.
