No fives now. That was a rank creeated during WWII because other countries had Field Marshals and we had no such rank. In order for Eisenhower to give the Field Marshals orders he had to have a similar rank. We crated five positions for General of the Army or Admiral of the Navy.

Thanks,,I remember that General of the Army title,,I thought it was for the head honcho. How many stars does colon powell have. BTW are brig and major generals one and two stars or two and three. I love army ranks but cannot remember them.
