This is probably a really stupid question, I know, but it's something I have been wondering about.

Bats eat bugs, right? Well, do they really have a whole lot of bugs in the desert for the bats to eat? I live in the midwest and was under the impression that there aren't a whole lot of bugs in the desert.

My husband told me after the first time he went to Kuwait, that there are so many flies surrounding your food, you end up eating half of them.He said they're so lazy they sit on the corner of your mouth and wait for you to bring the food to them
EW.
now wonder he won't eat raisins now.

I don't think Iraq is completely desert though. Baghdad is between two rivers (Tigris & Euphrates) and is supposed to be near the site of the Garden of Eden. (Wonder if they had bugs in Eden...)

Mesopetamia has marshlands naturally. Lots of bugs. Also a very high water table.

They come out at night. Most desert life is either nocturnal or crepuscular.
