Your post about Barney reminded me about 10 years ago I fainted, cut my head had to go to the emergency room to get sewn up. (I'm incredibly clumsy) In the next bed was a baby who kept screaming and parents couldn't figure out why and the doctors couldn't figure out why so they sang that "I love you, you love me" song and no joke, the baby calmed down.
PLUS, when I was little my parents convinced me that Santas Village (Christmas themed amusment park in the Chicago area) wasn't real even though commercials ran for it constantly.

Of course Santa's Village was a scam. I saw the Real Santa in North Pole, Alaska
