Maybe it's for transporting goods. The river is navigable, yes??

It is kind of a slow news day which is probably why we're sharing stories ofmean things done by siblings and losing teeth...LOL!

I got to the fox page, but it took a really long time.

Speaking of tunnels, did you ever tour your university's steam tunnel system? Yes, as a matter of fact! Physical plant in the NE corner of the campus.
And years before that, a friend and I called on a new hospital in Brookfield, WI. We told the folks we had an assignment for school to write about the hospital (it was a lie, but we really were interested in the place). We got a great tour of the power plant, tunel system, backup power generator, etc. THis hospital also had state of the art unmanned vehicles for food and linen delivery. This was back in about '68 or so.

The Belvedere Room accepts all poetry. They also have an archive. I submitted a few of my own under the names "Consort" and mostly "Jimer" (my old name).

I hope to heaven we can stop something horrendous like that from happening!

After a while when she told us she had a tooth loose, we'd ,"go play with your brother." :) When I was about six years old my five year old brother knocked my two front teeth out when we were boxing. HA! That just reminded me of a time when I was about 5 years old...my older sis and I were riding our trikes on the driveway. Anyway, she did something to piss me off, can't remember what, but when she got off her trike I floored it and rammed the front wheel of my trike into her heel. That metal part that covers the top of the wheel (whatever it is called), sliced a good way into her heel. She needed stitches, the poor thing.

ABC embedded report reports standing on the tarmac. Yet on local ABC I find a soap? Great priorities guys.

They need to start referring to it as Baghdad International instead of Saddam International.

I read on another thread days ago that the bunker under Saddam's palace (can't remember if it was one or all of the palaces) led to tunnels that also led ou to the Tigris.
To: cajungirl
I think that's all it is - a drainage tunnel. The troopers had to check it out and some reporter thinks it is a major find. I imagine the CIA bribed every contractor that has worked there for the last 12 years. I doubt that the 3rd Army has either the time or the inclination to "poke around" in structures. The interesting question is "why sieze the airport first?"

Well -- the point is the very wise often express wisdom in droplets of free text that are very poetic even if not formal poems. Shakespeare, Rumsfeld, MacArthur, Yogi Berra, Casey Stengel ...

Hey ya'll. I thought you might want an entertainment break, but I didn't want to post lots of graphics on this live thread. Something made want to start an "Iraq: The Movie" Casting Call, and I started it
