Commish, it's one thing and one thing only. They trust the Americans will act with mercy and compassion. They know we won't carpet bomb them or lob Scuds at them. It's a testimony to us that they live their lives while at war.

The Iraqi information minister has said that reports the coalition troops are near Bagdad are totally ridiculous. I'm going to say this again. I want you to listen to me. There are no coalition troops near Baghdad. Hey! Who you gonna believe? Me, or your lying eyes?
To: commish
Sad, but true. We might be seeing the final episodes of "This Old Bunker". Although I hear they are negotiating with some American DIY programs for guest appearances. Achmed Vila and Norm are heard to be quite excited and are in preliminary talks with INS.

Well, as long as Iraqis stay skeptical inside the privacy of their own homes, i dont care what this cerebral lacking "man" says. He's got a cushy cabin in the Austrian Alps after this is all over courtesy of Haider.

Greg Kelly w/ 3rd ID: Heavy day of fighting... 30 T-72 tanks detroyed.."moved over Euphrates into Saddam's backyard," our convoy, ~1000 vehicles long, came under heavy fire..response from US forces heavy, incl. air support...hundreds of Iraqis dead, some captives...30 Russian-made tanks destroyed...we lost a soldier today...Most of all, the guys are pretty pumped up: "this is the fight they came here for."

I tend to agree with you. It is amazing that we have been able to get the word to these people, and even more gratifying that they believe us.
TO me that sends a LOUD message to the rest of the world. Our word is our bond, and even in a country of totally oppressed people they have gotten the word and they know enough of America and American's to trust us when we say we will not harm them.

One of the hosts of a radio show (Rick & Bubba out of Birmingham, AL) described to his co-host some of the details of Pvt. Lynch's capture. He mentioned that she shot several Iraqi's, continued firing until she was out of ammo, and then got into a wrestling match with the enemy resulting in stab wounds. He painted a picture of a WV wildcat, it was great. He concluded by saying these heroics were performed by a 19 year old Marine supply clerk. It reminded me of the movie Under Siege when the Playboy playmate was told by Segal that he was just a cook.
Pvt. Lynch is a true American hero.

Training that soldier probably cost more than 70 T-72's. American fighting forces are indeed impressive.
To: Dog
I can't get CNN to come up. MSNBC 2 doesn't have sound for me.

Something tells me Pvt Lynch's future is secured now - I would lay money that her story will be a Movie of the Week in the not too distant future.
If she can handle the emotional strain - they should let her play herself.
