She ran out of ammo, was captured, tortured, beaten, broken, raped, and who knows what else. If anything, this is a perfect see-I-told-you-so for the anti-women-in-combat crowd.
Oddly, you should be correct but the PC folks have already lowered the bar in this case. She fired back and since she is a woman, that is a cause to celebrate.
I celebrate her survival...and luck to be alive. I am also happy she showed good spunk. She will need it to recover I fear.
She is a hero in a relative sense. Being called hero has been altered dramatically in this era. There are heroes...and then there are heroes I guess.
