Does anyone have any ideas where we can send PFC Lynch some Get Well cards and such?
Seeing her pictures really hit me, and I want to send her a card to let her know that she has people out here praying for her.

Ask the moderator to add a dash on the title of this thread and the words "America's Little Sister." That would be a start.

Again Lee's, EXCELLENT Idea.
Moderator, if you're reading this, Please Add "- "America's Little Sister" to the title.
(I'm also going to send off a note requesting that too.)

West Virginia University, President David C. Hardesty Jr.
announced today upon news of Lynch's miraculous and dramatic rescue. "We've been thinking about and praying for U.S. Army Private First Class Jessica Lynch's safe return since her capture on March 23," Hardesty said. "We've read about her reason for joining the military, and along with her love for her country and her concern for the plight of the Iraqis, she wanted to better her life through a college education. West Virginia University wants to provide that opportunity to our West Virginia hero, and will offer Jessica sufficient financial assistance - in coordination with any other assistance she may receive from the Army - to pursue her dream of becoming a kindergarten teacher - when she is ready, of course."

Perhaps donations can be made to the USO in honor of our POW/MIAs.......

At least this girl will go home.
Does she get a discharge? I never knew
of anyone injured while I was in service,
so I don't know what happens. You'd
think she would go back on the job when
she is healed up, unless her enlistment expires
in the meantime.

That's a great idea. One of our grocery stores here gives you the option at the checkout of buying a $1, 3, or 5 donation chit.
The sign says that 100% of the money goes to the USO.

She's a genuine American hero and should get a medal. They will probably make a movie about her. The feminists will love it. "America's Fighting Women" might be a good title.

Lee's, another idea, who could we contact at the various Media Outlets, to further that campaign.

Don't know, but I'm sure she's in for a nice, long furlough.
FWIW, it sounds as though her injuries are NOT slight. She's likely got quite a long rehab in front of her.

May I assume you are being facetious? (The "feminist" bit tends to indicate you are).
The "heroes" are those who went in after her. She is strictly a victim of circumstance.

With respect, how is she a "hero", exactly?

Of course I am overjoyed at PFC Lynchs safe return. I am however, concerned about the wisdom that puts these women in harms way and the unnecessary risks it poses to them and our fighting men. I have similar concerns about the embedded journalists.
None of our fighting men should die for political correctness.
