Why are they still alive?
Um, is it time to have a little talk with Basher?

If it's the SAS the "suicide" folks are lucky to be breathing.
To: Asher
Where are the suicide bombers supposed to meet to arm themselves or is this a BYOB (Bring Your Own Bomb) party?
To: Billthedrill
Non-uniformed but self-idenitifed as combatants? Guess what, brothuh...you're on the fast track for summary execution. Entirely within bounds of Geneva convention(s).

Suggest convincing these folks how misled they were and send them back where they came from.
To: Billthedrill

I told you all that these ass-clowns had been tracked the minute they left Damascus and Amman. The Lads appear to have "detained" them.
Four busloads of suicide commandos picking their asses in the desert under guard might be a beautiful sight to see...
...on Al-Jazeera.

Chris

The Syrians objected to the loss of the "civilian" buses.
To: Asher
If they are foreign nationals of numerous Middle Eastern Countries, but have been issued Syrians passports, then the Government of Syria has thereby sanctioned its citizens to commit an act of war.
Looks like Basher is the next dictator on the chopping block.
Syria is a very poor country with a ruthless dictator in charge, however not anywhere near as ruthless has his late father.
To: Asher
"Syria is understood to have issued some 2,000 passports in recent weeks to people, including Palestinians, who are volunteering to fight for Saddam Hussein. Look, I tried, Saddam. I couldn't help it if the evil ones caught me and made me eat a meal and gave me housing and clean clothes and medical care against my will. God is great!

I think we should send the buses back. In packing crates, like our P3 Orion was returned by the ChiComs.

Achmed, I thought you said this was bus to Baghdad. These men with guns, they says bus is going to Gitmo. Where is Gitmo? Is it near Bhasra or Al Kut?

The consular section at the US Embassy in Damascus should be closed and any holders of visas issued there during the past year located and detained.

Were these the guys who were cruisin' to suicide on buses leased by Qusay? I wondered how far they'd get into Iraq before they were, ahem, detained.
I believe our President has signed an order that these folks can be detained for up to 30 days. I don't know if this applies to detainees nailed by the Brits. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A5904-2003Apr1.html

I love it when a plan comes together like this...

This Syrian action reminds me of the Mariel boatlift when Castro unloaded most of his violent prisoners on the US. Syria is ridding its secular government of radical Muslims who can cause disruption in the new Mideast.
