Treachery....

April 2, 2003: Want to get a really realistic perspective on why Coalition military forces are in Iraq, as well as the kind of sadistic psychopaths the peace movement are giving aid and comfort to? Then focus your memories back on last week's much-celebrated (by the media) tragedy when a supposed Iraqi ?suicide bomber? vented his rage at the unjust American invasion of his homeland and blew himself and his car up, killing four US marines.

Ooops! Seems there's been a minor update to that story that Dan Rather and Peter Jennings have neglected to inform us about. Turns out the driver of that vehicle was an innocent taxi driver who was blown up, along with his taxi, by remote control........

I cannot seem to get the Iconoclast site to enable me to print a single article. I find it hard to use.

The article doesn't seem to be on the page you linked to. How about just posting the article here?

Only one problem with that story...but it is a big one...

Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has ordered that a non-commissioned officer who killed at least four US soldiers in a suicide attack on Saturday local time be promoted posthumously to colonel, Iraqi television said. The promotion for Ali Jaafar Musa Hammadi al-Numani, who blew himself up in a taxi at a US army checkpoint near the holy city of Najaf, was on top of the award of two medals of honour announced on Saturday.

Only one problem with that story

Agree, it is a problem, but if they'd gas their own people, how much of a stretch is it to suspect they could booby-trap a Taxi without the owner/drivers knowledge? Or perhaps hold his family at gunpoint to insure his participation, lest he see his family raped/murdered before his eyes. I believe it was most likely voluntary, but it could still have been coerced.

Whoever designed the website needs to redo it. I cannot easily isolate the article and print it. Thx. 'Pod
