My initial reaction is to let it blow over like a small child throwing a temper tantrum..... Those were CHILDREN on that bus. Lowlifes that vent their anger on children don't deserve our understanding or empathy. Had 9/11 happened in Canada, or France, or Russia, or Germany, things would be QUITE DIFFERENT. I know there are many Canadians who don't feel this way but their government is betraying them, Chirac must be so proud of his pipsqueak counterpart Cretien.

Yes it is beyond disgusting and these people should be thrown in jail as far as I'm concerned. But to take this one event and lump everyone in Canada into it isn't fair.
Did you hear the CANADIAN crowd that numbered in the 10s of thousands roaring at the Blue Jays game the other night???

"Canada would do well to expel Quebec from their confederation"
I agree. The frenchie faction is Canada's problem.
Now, the United Staes would do well to expel CALIFORNIA from the union - they are not "united"in any sense of the word. California in fact, creates dis-unity among the States in many ways.

A peewee hockey tournament in Montreal became a trip into hostile territory for a busload of Americans who say they encountered such fierce anti-Americanism that they will think twice before returning. I saw this report on local TV last week. It was just disgusting the way the crowd treated those boys. They are just KIDS! The boys interviewed couldn't believe it either. Something tells me they won't be interested in going back to Canada for quite a long time!

Actually, this can be alleviated if people like you up north, take your government's policies to task. Then the population may wake up after the socialist snooze.
To: KeyWest
You were in the majority, they don't like us westerners either.French Canadians are quite insular and live in their own francophone cocoon, many afraid to venture outside their own borders. They only poke their heads out to bitch about some perceived injustice and pop back in again.Due to Canada's politically correct bi-lingual policy, they are slowly taking over all the key senior positions in the civil service which excludes us westerners completely since none of us understand or speak the lingo. Nice people though if you make an attempt to speak french. Since most french speaking immigrants to Canada come from former North African French colonies, as is the case in France, many are disgruntled Arabs. They do not represent Canada, but our liberal government sucks up to this immigrant vote. A short introduction as to why we are in such a mess right now and are really pissed about the deterioration in Can-Am relatiions.

Jeez, I can't believe it's this bad in Canada. Well I certainly won't send them any of my business. Montreal is just too close to France.

California doesn't need to be "expelled" from the US. It simply needs to sink into the ocean and crawl back under the liberal, pseudo-intellectual, "fruit & nuts" rock from which it originally crawled.

I thought that all leftists were so concerned for "the children" that they would never do anything to harm kids - another myth bites the dust.

I'm glad I resisted the temptation to buy a Seagull 12-string guitar. They are made in quebec. Add Seagull, Godin, La Patrie, and Simon & Patrick guitars to your boycott list.

refer to post #24.....
The protesters in Atlanta gave my kid's (11,14,&17) the finger too after we confronted them....
Instead, we just laughed at them and mocked them....Called them "Baby Killers" for supporting Saddam's regime....We continued to taunt and mock them.....
HooBoy...did that get their collective panties in a wad....It was fun watching them trip over their own words at that point....

Laz, should we dust off the old "War Plan Crimson" documents? (Plan Crimson was the 1920s-1930s war plan for invading Canada.)
Let's sing a rousing chorus of "Blame Canada" and go for it!

Don't lump the rest of Canada in with the French Canadians. It would be appropriate to call it Al Qebec.

I guess this is what we can expect from "French" Canadiens. Thye are too cowardly to show their true colors to adults!
To: Truth29
Well, you had best take back your country from the French or, inevitably, all of Canada will be blamed. Why should US citizens, for instance, vacation in Canada if they are going to be cursed and abused. I am planning a vacation to Toronto this summer and have non-refundable Air Canada tickets. At some point, if Canada doesnt smell the coffee, I'll just bag the tickets and go somewhere more welcoming. You are 100% correct, but we've been trying to sort these bastards oot for years. They are no end of trouble. You will of course be welcome in Toronto, it's my home town. You'll notice that we have American flags flying all over the place, alongside the Maple Leaf and the Ontario Red Ensign. Where has your anthem been booed? Quebec. Where has your anthem been roundly applauded and received standing ovations? In Toronto, at Maple Leaf games and at Blue Jays games. The Quebecers are very, very xenophobic, and are bent on preserving their culture. We've even had problems with Quebecois terrorists, back in the early 70's, and the military had to be called in to deal with them. They murdered an English envoy or some such after kidnapping him. They used to view English Canada as the main threat to their survival. Believe me, they now view the United States as the main threat to their cultural survival. They've got their language laws, where signs within 'Le Province du Quebec' may only be posted in English. How did they manage that? Continually whining and whinging. By continually getting frogs elected to power. In my life, I've only known one PM who was English -Brian Mulroney. Joe Clark was also, but only briefly. The continent is a much smaller place in the 21st century, and Americans are much more aware of Canada. The French Canadians are also much more aware of US culture, and are very afraid of it, because you are an overpowering influence. Now, American culture doesn't really bother us west of Quebec, as we share a similar heritage - that being the UK. The traditional Quebec Seperatist movement is dead. While they once viewed us as the enemy of their culture, they've sufficiently diluted the English population here with immigrants, who are also made to feel unwelcome in Quebec, thus, the Liberal gov't panders to the immigrant vote by kissing immigrant backside. The Quebecois win, because the Liberals cater to them, and they also win because the immigrants don't usually go to Quebec, so their province is kept relatively pristine. Ironic, even the new immigrants to Canada don't want to live with the French. At the same token, the Quebecois seriously damaged their provinces economy in the 90's with the referendum they held, and almost won, to seperate from Canada. They result there, was that 90% of the businesses in Montreal, which used to be our economic capital, have moved to Toronto or Calgary. So, apart from economically, the Quebecois feel relatively comfortable in Canada as it stands now, at least, as comfortable as they're going to get. The traditional seperatist in Quebec, however, has identified a new threat to their culture - the United States. They still harbour hatred of us in English Canada, but American culture, being as strong as it is, is an irresistable force, it permeates the world over, and it is slowly creeping into Quebec. They don't like that, and have identified you as the enemy, along with us. No end of trouble they are. The English should've shipped them all back to France when they won the war on the Plains of Abraham, but alas, the English were too benevolent and nice, much like the U.S. is now, and by not taking the tough stance against the French, condemned Canada to hundreds of years of disunity and disarray.

You have it Magoo- only in Montreal could this have happened. If Americans come to Ontario or the west you won't find this happening- well maybe Ottawa, the liberal party MPs and the too may french Canadians would likely do the same. Just stay out of Quebec if you do want to come to our country. Frankly if I were an American I would not come to Canada or do any business with Canadian companies.
