Governor's Abstinence Program Makes Pitch to School Board in Shreveport

Posted on April 2, 2003 Representatives of the Governor's Program on Abstinence are making a pitch to Louisiana's largest school systems, including Caddo Parish, this month.

The program targets seventh-graders with 12 hours of volunteer-led instruction on saying no to premarital sex. Program coordinators also promote and oversee "abstinence clubs" at high schools.
