Where did you hear he was recovered? I haven't found that yet and official word from CentCom doesn't mention it.

This post was taken off the 'F18 shot down' thread- not a hard source confirmation entirely... awaiting CENTCOM verification- (apparently CENTCOM contacted media and requested that they stop reporting on shoot down until they recovered pilot as S&R was underway)

theyve recovered the pilot, the pentagon gave them the go ahead to report the story now, that explains that.
