Yeh, Kleenex....[allergies, ya know].It's war time, we'll let it slide. {passing the tissue...}

Maybe I'm naive here, but... I cannot comprehend what appears to be suicidal behavior by the Republican Guard. They have to know they're getting whacked. What do they have to gain by continuing to resist to the death of each and every one? My husband thinks it's because they're all on the hook for war crimes and have nothing to lose. Thoughts?

They assume we won't hit hospitals, mosques (the fedayeen are using a Shiite holy mosque in Najah), day care centers, etc. And if we do, even if they are filled with nuclear/sarin/anthrax tipped missiles, we'll be accused of "mass destruction of civilian targets."
It just doesn't matter so we might as well blow them the hell up anyway.

Yeh, Kleenex....[allergies, ya know].My allergies have been acting up for the last two weeks...okay, since 9/11.
I'm thinking of buying Kleenex by the case.

The report I am speaking of had this "reporter" I had never seen before saying he was in the foyer of the hospital. Camera pans. In the purported foyer are a few gurneys, some with "patients" on them. A couple had women standing by with the traditional black garb. The "reporter" pointed out the "usual" mural of Saddam on the wall, then went on to describe how everything seemed normal to him. I wish someone else had seen this report. I know it was Fox and I believe it was David Asman in studio who received the "report" without comment at the end. They simply moved on to the next story.
I must have missed it because I have been in and out of the house this morning. It that happened we need to email Fox News about using such a despicable source. I do know that David Asman has a son in the marines who is in Iraq. I don't think he would have appreciated that reporter.

Thanks as always for your information. I have another window open to this thread and finally found where the play by play of this morning's Centcom briefing will begin. I'm off to read it. Want to catch up before the Pentagon briefing later.

ALL stories extolling the virtues of Duct Tape are TRUE. Duct Tape will get a medal for valor after-action.

Choldt, has there been more mention of the Medina's going down? Nothing being said on MSN or CNN. Just wondering if Fox is continueing to report it.
thanks. Prairie

They either stand, fight and die; or the death squads will execute them first.

We should get a copy of the Jessica Lynch picture with her sitting beside the tree and put it next to Belly Girl.Jessica Lynch is a true hero. Belly Girl was fun for awhile, but who is she, really?
I vote to replace Belly Girl with Jessica Lynch starting with tomorrow's thread.

I think this is David Choldt (sp?), a Sky News reporter. He acts like a BBC reporter.
To: Catspaw
This is the second "hospital" they've found like this. They assume we won't hit hospitals, mosques (the fedayeen are using a Shiite holy mosque in Najah), day care centers, etc.
One report, either CENTCOM or embedded reporter, early this morning implied that many schools were also being using to hide weaponry and Iraqi soldiers.

Yeah, I guess so. Better to go out in a blaze of glory martyred for Allah? What a twisted group.

I don't have cable at work. I have yet to get Sky News working for me, so I'm stuck with BBC. It's an interesting perspective. Also, the people within earshot can hear me yelling & swearing at my monitor. It's like listening to CNN, only worse.

I agree. They probably know that when the general population realizes that SH is not in charge anymore that the fingers are going to start pointing in thier direction.
There was a story yesterday or the day before about citizens telling British soldiers who the Baathists were (because they had taken off thier military gear and were dressed in regular clothes trying to "blend"). The people were saying things to the soldiers like, "When you leave they are the ones who come to frighten us."
I have a feeling the the US/coalition forces treat the captured RG alot more humanely then the Iraqi people will when they get thier chance.

Am I the only one who thinks Belly Girl and Jessica might have been separated at birth?Yes.
To: retrokitten
Thank you for the links, kitten. My mother hopes Jessica stays with the military. She's worried about this fine, young woman being corrupted by our universities. Perhaps Jessica will choose a Community College without a socialist School of Ed. - Jessica teaching kindergarten = hope.
