I'm just going to ignore him next time. I don't think he was angry so much as arrogant, snotty, rude, and askinforit. I do, however, want to be there watching when someone finally beats the snot out of him. G*d, that guy p!$$ed me off!
That's what he wanted to do. He assaulted you & then assaulted me. His comments were pathetic, but it also made me mad when he got in my face.
Next time, I think I will back up (hell, I ain't defending a piece of the sidewalk) and laugh at him more. I can stand my ground verbally without letting him stay in my personal space.
If he intrudes in my personal space after I back up, I would try to stand with a barrier such as a sign on my front.
I also may consider the garlic idea of another poster.
