All you need to know about McCaffrey is that he was (and probably still is) a Clinton toady. There are plenty of Clinton-era retired military brass floating around these days pretending to know what the f@#k they're talking about — and pretending they could do Iraq and the war on terrorism all bigger and better than the folks who actually have to bear the responsibility. The Clinton brass all had their chance in the 1990's and didn't do squat to protect this country.

McCaffrey is a slimeball - he wasn't much of a Division Commander or Army officer, he was a suck-up and failure as drug czar, and his analysis is available for sale - and whatever flavor you want.

Today, he has an editorial in the NY Times that says we're losing the war, another in the WSJ saying we're doing a great job, and I understand one in McPaper (whoops - USAToday) that says he stands by his statements.

It'd be nice if NBC would send that lying SoS to Baghdad to get an interview with Saddam.
