'The Lads' is a very noble reference to the Forces. These are OUR lads (and lasses) going out on a mission for Good.
Not terrorists. Not anonymous faces. OUR allied people. OUR allied troops.
Methinks...'the lads' is a very good analogy. It has a sense of a 'united family' about it. And if you watch the Soprano's, you DON'T f*ck with the family.
