I did have to wipe my eyes. I have to do that a lot lately, watching TV, reading stuff online. Really emotional stuff going on.

I always look forward to ladtx's posts and essays. I enjoyed this one very much. Thank you Billie for presenting it to us.

Courage has been in my thoughts for the last couple of months since I finished the John Adams biography. And lo and behold when I clicked on the Profiles in Courage link, I was not surprised that one of them was to John Adams.

A nice tribute to military wives....I have known many of them through the years and have always have been in awe of all that they endure when their husbands are serving. And they are so young too, usually in their 20's.

Living in a military community, I read lots of local stories about military wives and families. One last week tugged my heartstring. A young military wife is moving back to the Midwest with her young children while her husband is deployed. Problem is, they have a dog, her parents have cats. So she gave the dog to the local Animal Shelter to see if he could be adopted out with the proviso that if he was not adopted in 7 days, she would reclaim him and deal with the problem another way. Well, somehow the paperwork got mixed up and the doggie had been euthanized by mistake. So, she has that to deal with in addition to everything else.

Hi sistah...Glad to hear your daffodils survived a brutal winter. I love them. Don't have any though, not too good with bulbs. But I do have scads of roses in bloom...and a prized lilac bush too and daisies of course...

Sorry, all, for the width of my post yesterday. Billie mentioned this morning that it was perfect, except for one little thing.......it was too wide for the screen! She had to scroll in order to see the entire width of the page. Other people have told me that they had the same problem with it. I don't understand why, because I don't see it that way on my monitor. I didn't get a scroll bar when I viewed it. It looked fine to me. We both have our screen set at 800x600 and we both use IE. It's a mystery why I see things differently on my monitor.

In light of other things going on in the world, it really isn't that big a deal, I guess, but I like my posts to be perfect. So, it has been corrected.

Billie discovered that the problem was my paw print at the bottom. It has been removed and Jim has reposted the thread. Thank you, Jim. Next time I will have Billie preview my post, since I can't depend on what I am seeing on my monitor.

Thanks, Billie, for telling me.....I know you didn't want to. You know what a perfectionist I am, sort of like you. LOL! :-)

How very lovely of you, Aqua - and I so love pansies - cheerful and durable, surviving even ice-encrusted winters.

I was away from the board when this was posted, and am now trying to catch up on the thread.
