Predictable -- the media at CENTCOM is focused on the 7 civilians shot at the checkpoint and not our relentless advance on Baghdad.

AP Question: Why not more high level defections? Spell out the tangible consequences of degradation?
Brooks: When we erode communications, network to Iraqi regime forces, we seek to sever those when we become aware of them. Deliberate process. What will have the intended effect? This regime has effective redundant, but not effective as primary.
Defections: because the regime won't let them. Very high risk proposition for these leaders. Tremendous danger for them. They know that there is success. By way of surrender or capture. The work is ongoing and effective. We don't overestimate our ability.

Are we going to pay financial compensation to civ casualties? Hello, reporters, there's a war going on. How about some questions regarding that??

And the reporter has to ask again after already asked!!! Droning on and on...

Regarding the stupid ABC question, I would like people to take a quick read of this article:
Late start could mean bad news for ABC reputation
This storoy informs us that ABC affiliates are already upset with ABC coverage. This means that we should call local stations about reporters and commentators attitudes. They are vulnerable to criticism right now.
In addition, a poster reminded me that Rick Kaplan (former CNN destroyer) is now in charge of ABC war coverage.
