Former DEA agent pleads guilty to soliciting young boys for sex
A former DEA agent has pleaded guilty to another charge of soliciting sex from young Las Vegas boys.
Steven Kinney has already pleaded guilty to 15 state charges of soliciting sex from minors. Tuesday, he pleaded guilty to a federal charge of coercion and enticement of a minor for sex.
Authorities say the 43-year-old tossed stones wrapped with notes containing invitations to meet him at the feet of young boys at malls and other public places in and around Las Vegas.
As part of a deal, federal prosecutors will recommend Kinney be sentenced to three years in prison.
Local prosecutors have agreed to ask a Clark County judge to sentence him to no more than 12 years in state prison.
Kinney was fired from the DEA after his arrest last March.

The attorney said his client, who is free on bond, lives out of state. A spokesman for the DEA in Los Angeles said Kinney, who had worked as a field narcotics agent in Las Vegas for several years, was fired from the agency months ago.
Schonfeld said Kinney was a decorated DEA agent and a decorated military veteran.
