Nine formations of Turkish warplanes made an equal number of air traffic rules infringements on Monday, which developed into five violations of national airspace in regions of the northern and central Aegean and to the east of the island of Rhodes, press reports said.
Greek jets recognised and intercepted the 25 Turkish warplanes, while in six cases the interception process developed into an engagement.
The Turkish aircraft intercepted by Greek planes following an engagement were armed.

The Greeks and Turks have been at it over that particular bit of airspace for years. You used to be able to overfly Rodos enroute to Tel-Aviv etc. Now you get routed right down the middle of the Med. I overheard an conversation between a flight of F-16s and a turkish GCA. It was hilarious, he was trying to tell the Flight lead to break up his flight in to two ship formations as per "Turkish regulations"hehehe , our guys just kept hauling ass to base and disregarded the instructions.
Funny stuff
