The scene in Burgan is an apt metaphor for how oil and war often mix: If Iraq just exported oranges, after all, nearly 250,000 American troops probably wouldn't be in the region.I guess that explains why we went into Kosovo and Afghanistan. And I guess we went into France in WWII for the cheese and future alliances too!!

Since we still have troops in Kuwait and Afganistan, I don't understand your logic of not the U.S. not wanting to control the area.
We didn't enter WWII until after we were attacked by the Japanese.
You may recall the reason they did that was to knock us out of their Pacific plans. They wanted the oil, tin, wealth.
Since your such a nice global police minded person. Why don't we invade Cuba? Mexico and North Korea?

What if they exported oranges, and financing to Hamas and Hezbollah. And at the same time they were importing scientists and materials for building WMD? Would we ignore them then?
Jackass.
