Here is the text from the Channel 8 Story..... Notice the BS number of 1000 (I estimated at least 5000). Since the entrance was about 2/3 filled with people, I think my estimate is low. Incidentally, I asked two DPS policeman for their best guess for estimates. One said 3000-4000 and the other 4000-6000. The vantage point on top of the steps provided an ideal view for estimating purposes.
I took the liberty of correcting the article. ---------------------------------------------------

Patriotism abounded on the south steps of the Texas Capitol Building Sunday.
About 1,000 5000 people dressed in red, white and blue rallied in support of the U.S. troops and President Bush.
"They feel like a lot of the country's against them. They want to see this type of coverage and they're not getting that as much on TV as they get the anti-war rallies. It does boost their morale. They want to hear that they're fighting for a reason people believe in." Steinhauser
The Young Conservatives of Texas organized the rally.
If anyone watched FOX NEWS 7 last night the reporter (??)stated that there were 100's there!! Yes, that's what I said -- he had the nerve to report 100's and not the thousands. His name is WILL JENSEN and the FOX NEWS 7 main line telephone number is 476-7777 (email at:
news@fox7.com). I have already called and left message telling him we really didn't appreciate his under reporting of attendance and that most of the people attending the rally yesterday USE TO depend on FOX NEWS to get the real story out. Told him he would be hearing from many of us -- so let's give him a reality check. Make sure the next time these reporters come out to cover our rallies they brush up on their counting skills before they open their mouths!! Things went great yesterday -- beautiful weather, loads of people, fantastic music and great speakers (you could hear). The photos were wonderful as always as were the YCT -- what a great group of college kids -- I am so proud of them!! There is still hope for the world! Sorry I didn't get to meet many of you. NEXT TIME.
